EOAI Building & Infrastructure
EOAI has created a state-of-the- art facility at Noida, near New Delhi, having a covered area of 1250 Sq. Mtr. with the sole purpose of establishing EOAI Office, a world class library, R&D Centre, auditorium, conference room and other rooms. EOAI building is 5-Storey building with two Schindler company’s elevators.
An inaugural ceremony of our building was held on August 13, 2017. Newly constructed building was inaugurated by Mrs. Suman Varshney wife of Late Prof. S. C. Varshney of Som Varshney Ltd., Delhi who was a well known personality in the essential oil fraternity.
EOAI has a Conference Room located on 1st Floor, this room features a flat-screen monitor for projecting materials from our laptop. This room is well-suited for meetings, executive conferences, and events alike. There are 30 seats in this conference room.
Aroma Training Centre
The area of R&D centre is 2400 Sq. ft. The present facility at Aroma Training Centre, Sector-62, Noida consist of Polarimeter, Refractometer, Density Meter, Multi-detector GC, GC-MS (Agilent make) fitted with most of the newly created F & F libraries with technical back up for conducting enantiomers and trace analysis of oils for ascertaining their purity and origin. These services are being provided to growers, scholars and research workers of aroma crops just at a token cost. Samples are received for GC/GCMS testing/Physical Data from all over India. The money collected from testing is used to run the Lab.
EOAI is maintaining a Prof. Shiam C. Varshney Library which has books, journals and other publications on essential oils. As of now, our library has total number of 839 books on various fields, including essential oils, Flavours, Fragrances, Agriculture Aromatics, Agriculture Medicinal Plants , Phytochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Spectroscopy, Cosmetics, and Alternate Therapy.
Govind Prasad Jhunjhunwalla Memorial Hall
EOAI has an auditorium named Govind Prasad Jhunjhunwalla Memorial Hall which is located in ground floor of the main building. The area of auditorium is 2000 Sq .Ft. The capacity of this hall is 142 persons with luxury seats. There is a spacious lobby in front and back of the hall. There is big stage, big projector and screen, podium wireless mike along with powerful audio and video system.

R & D Initiatives
In order to achieve our objectives and fulfill our mission, EOAI is already marching ahead and creating a state-of-the- art facility at Noida, near New Delhi, having a covered area of 26000sft. with the sole purpose of establishing a world class library along with research laboratories, auditorium and other lecture rooms, not only to impart training to small and medium size entrepreneurs right from cultivation, extraction processing and quality evaluation of essential oils and other aroma ingredients, but also to carry analysis of various aroma ingredients and pursue further research and development related to aroma molecules.
We have already purchased many books for the library and planning to purchase reference books like British Pharmacopeia, Indian Pharmacopeia, United States Pharmacopeia and Merck Index etc. and started giving library facilities to our members.
R&D Centre is almost ready and following equipments have already been procured.

We are analyzing essential oils by GC/MS on regular basis.
About Asian Aroma Ingredients & Congress
EOAI during one of its Annual General Meeting in 2008 took a decision that it should take an initiative to host the first Asian Essential Oil Congress in 2010 with the support of all Asian countries (Indonesia, China, Srilanka etc.) who are important producers of aroma ingredients. With the efforts of Late Prof. S. C. Varshney it could materialized.

Asian Aroma Ingredients & Congress 2010
We have conducted International conference on Asian Aroma Ingredients & Congress 2010 which was the 1st in Asia from May 7 to 9, 2010 Prof. S.C. Varshney was the Chairman of the congress who has rendered all his services for the success of the seminar. Sh. Rohit Seth, Secretary of the conference also put his untiring efforts to make this successful.
The conference was inaugurated by Sh. Pradeep Kumar Jain “Aditya”, Minister of State for Rural Development Govt. of India on 7th May and Dr. Brain M. Lawrence (U.S.A.) a well known person in the field of Essential Oils was the Guest of Honor.
Sh. Pradeep Kumar Jain “Aditya” gave award to the following persons:
- Life time achievement award to Dr. Bali Ram Tyagi
- Scientist of the year award to Dr. Nirpendra Kumar Chauhan
Souvenir was also released on this occasion by the Chief Guest. A book on Mentha “Mint oils of the worlds” by Prof. S.C. Varshney was also released by Chief Guest.
There was technical session on 8th & 9th May, 2010 and very prominent speakers from India and abroad delivered lecturer’s which was attended by 400 delegates.
Asian Aroma Ingredients Congress-2016/Asian Aromatherapy Conference-2016
Essential Oil Association of India organised Asian Aroma Ingredients Congress-2016 & Expo (AAIC-2016)/Asian Aromatherapy Conference-2016 (AAC-2016) from April 22 to 24, 2016 at Leela Ambience Convention Hotel, Delhi.The theme of the AAIC-2016 and AAC-2016 were “Asian Aroma Resources-glimpse into the Future” and “Aromatherapy-Healing with Essential Oils” respectively. Prof. S.C. Varshney was the Chairman of the Steering/Advisory Committee who has rendered all his services and hard work for the success of the Congress. Mr. Ajay Kumar Jain, President and Mr. Anil Katyal, General Secretary and Leaders of all Committees also put their untiring efforts to make this conference a grand successful. Over 700 delegates from different parts of India and abroad including Farmers/ Growers attended the AAIC-2016 /AAC-2016. This was the first time in EOAI history that more than 200 foreigners from all over the world and making this conference a truly international. Dr. Ram Vishwakarma, Director, IIIM Jammu delivered the Keynote address. The Expo was inaugurated by Mr. Om Prakash Sharma, MLA, BJP, Shahdra, Delhi. There were 92 Expo stalls from Indian and Foreign Exhibitors. Souvenir was also released on this occasion of AAIC-2016. There were technical sessions on 22nd (AAC-2016) and 23rd & 24th April, 2016 (AAIC-2016). Twenty two papers were presented by very prominent Speakers from India and abroad.
Inauguration of Building

Varshney of Som Varshney Ltd. who was a well known personality in the essential oil fraternity The EOAI Office, R&D Centre, Library and Auditorium have been inaugurated by a ribbon cutting ceremony, which was performed by Mr. Jugal Kishore Gupta ( Unfortunately he is not with us) of Ms. Kanta Chemical Company, Delhi and Mr. Phool Prakash of M/s. Hindustan Mints and Agro Product, Chandausi (Jointly performed), Mr. Sant Sanganeria of M/s. Ultra International , Delhi, Mr. Sanjay Varshney of M/s. Som Extracts Ltd. , Delhi and Mr. Anand Jhunjhunwalla of M/s. Aff Aromatics Pvt. Ltd., Kolkota respectively. Mrs. Suman Varshney and other dignitaries performed pooja and lighting of the lamp in the new Auditorium named Govind Prasad Jhunhunwalla Memorial Hall. Mr. Ajay Kumar Jain, President EOAI was delighted to welcome all the distinguished guests, dignitaries and member delegates and thanked them for being there on the occasion of the inauguration of new building. He expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciated the contributions of Past Presidents, Scientists, Industrialists and Researchers. He paid his sincere tribute to Late Prof. S. C. Varshney for his dedication and the extraordinary contributions he had made towards EOAI his dream Project. His welcome address was followed by two audio-visual presentations of Late Shri Govind Prasad Jhunhunwalla and Late Prof. S. C. Varshney. These audio-visual presentations were focused on glimpses of their brief history, activities, contributions and achievements. Our distinguished guest Mr. Sant Sanganeria, Chairman, Ultra International Ltd., Delhi graced us with his valuable words. He paid homage and special regards to Late Prof. S.C. Varshney, who devoted wholeheartedly to EOAI. He said” EOAI has definitely achieved the basic fundamental of this industry during 61 years of it’s journey. Now we , industry people need to consider the latest growth and development of essential oil and fragrance industry thoughtfully, specially for R&D sector at par with international rules and regulation so that we could compete with essential oil and fragrance market globally”. The guests, past presidents and dignitaries were presented a Memento during the concluding ceremony.
Building Completion Certificate
We are pleased to inform you that Building Completion Certificate has been received from Noida Development Authority.
Indian Perfumer is being published quarterly. The design and format of the journal has been changed for the betterment. We are continuously trying to improve the quality of journal to meet the International Standards.
The original research articles and reviews on cultivation and improvement in essential oil bearing plants are being published. The papers received from the authors are evaluated by two qualified referees and then approved in the Publication Committee meeting for final publication.
We are getting advertisements from very reputed companies in India and abroad.Forthcoming events and conferences to be held in India and abroad are announced through this journal.
